Just one more thing: It seems that this group is also anti-nonbaptist protestant. When I was growing up, I regularly encountered the attitude that baptists are saved, protestants (baptists were not considered protestants) might be saved but it seemed that not many actually were, and Roman Catholics are all damned (except for the very rare “born again” catholic who is in disobedience by staying in the false church.

Baptists are known for being the least ecumenical of protestants and the hardcore baptists deny they are protestants. We were always taught to believe that Luther was a heretic and the baptists were the true New Testament church descended from John the Baptist. Our forefathers were, of course, : Montanists, Cathars, Albigensies, etc. 😉

Has anybody ever gotten an answer to the question, “If all it takes is faith and I believe in Jesus, why am I not saved too?”
 
That’s a different message board though, right? I’ll check it out, thanks.

But, you won’t see the Catholic Discussion forum, unless you log in.

However, it won’t do any good right now, because it seems all priviledges for posting have been removed, except for the moderators.

Besides, they are really weird there anyways. They hardly ever respond to my questions, or rebut them. In fact they usually Blatantly change the subject without rebuttal at all. Really a weird bunch over there.

I can give you the answer that will be given. They will say, “all it takes is faith in Jesus and ONLY faith in Jesus. If you add anything to faith, then you actually don’t have faith in Jesus.”
 
Just checked the baptists.org forum. All of the forums are closed now. The moderators say that they are “profiling” the participants.

I know, it wasn’t even up for a minute, all I said was:

" ‘The forum rules state that the porpuse of this forum is to discuss the protestant faith’, If there are over 33,000 protestant denominations, some being closer to catholicism than to other protestant faiths, how is it that catholicism cannot be discussed? Just a question".

That was all I said, and now I have two screen names suspended on that website. check out my original thread again, the mods are still mocking me after they closed the thread.
 
This site encourages heated debate. It probably won’t throw you out.
 
As this is a duplicate topic of the Baptist.org thread and because some posters seem to have forgotten what it feels like to have opponents with an agenda inundate a forum as happens here sometimes, I am closing this thread. If anyone has issues with this please contact me via the PM system.

I enjoin all and sundry to maintain the very soul of charity in all your posts wherever you go, knowing that every idle word will be judged before God and that one should always obey the command of Christ to “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.
