Hello,
Long time reader, first time poster. I’m trying to start a Bible Study/Discussion group at work and I have the interest of ~5-7 people. 3 of us are Catholic and the others are not.

Recognizing that non-denominational bible studies can cause a whole separate debate (I know, I used to attend one), I instead am looking for suggestions for a Catholic Bible Study that won’t turn away non-Catholics.

If I was forced to say that I had a goal, it would be to evangelize both Catholics and non-Catholics and to grow deeper in my own faith as well. But I want to as much as possible put my agenda on the side and let the Holy Spirit guide this. I tend to get in the way a lot!

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Try the one by Jeff Cavins. It starts at the OT.

If you have a long term commitment, the Bible Timeline is great.

Anything by Catholic Scripture Study International: CSSI, except the study on Angels and Demons, not up to their usual excellent standards. The newest study coming soon is Isaiah.

Since Catholic Bible Study’s emphasis is on our beliefs, I don’t know how you will avoid debate with our Non-Catholic brothers and sisters.

My groups were all Catholic, still…we had some lively debates. We did strive to keep all discussion civil. Father M was an email away to clear up any sticking points, confusion, etc.

I haven’t read through all of them, but to the best of my knowledge, none of the Bible Studies on focusequip.org/ contains anything a Protestant would object to.

Not sure how you are going to stay away from the Catholic Faith. The very beginning of the Bible…the opening verses of Genesis foreshadows Baptism. It’s really hard to give suggestions because any decent Catholic Bible study will have references to the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

I also recommend CSSI having done Genesis and currently using their study of the Gospel of Matthew but it does have Catechism references.

There is an excellent free Catholic Bible study here…

agapebiblestudy.com/

It also has Catechism references but maybe you can edit them out.
