Protestants: How do you determine what is literal in the Bible and what is not (specifically John 6)?

Some Lutheran churches (very rare) may have this because their pastor may be a former priest… but most do not…

Ahh finally we see the source of your confusion. You see, your church teaches you that this business about valid ordination is so. We don’t answer to your church, nor do we look to it for it’s opinion on this matter. We consider our priests validly ordained and we thus believe that our bread and wine is properly confected.

I hope this clears up your confusion.
