I want to give a bible to all my students of pre-confirmation and all are in 8th and 9th grade. I remember the older version of this bible and thought it was really great. Does anyone else have anymore info on this bible? Is the The New Catholic Answer Bible alot better then this one?

This will be a gift to all my students for Christmas, but I wanted to know if there is anywhere I can buy this in a bundle so it wont be to expensive? I have close to 20 students:eek:

I actually got the New Catholic Answer Bible shortly after I joined the Church. I have found it very helpful because it has sections in it that give a short ‘why we do this’ and then Bible passages to go with it. I don’t know the old one you asked about, so I don’t know how they compare. All I know is I found mine handy.

Contact the publisher for information on bulk purchases.

Also, ask your Parish, they may have a RE budget that will cover this cost.

www.getfed.com gives discounts to Parishes.

Both of these Bibles are FANTASTIC!

Thank you for the link. I will try to look around and see what I can find.

the best prices I have seen on Catholic bibles in case lots is from the communications center which is a clearing house for textbook publishers. the Prove-it Bible is 8.95 paperback in case lots (20 or 24, depends on the bible). for the same price there is also the Nelson International Student Bible for Catholics NAB, which has Q&A section at the front. our catechists like both, with a preference for the Prove it which we went to this year on their vote, they like the inserts on basic faith and apologetics topics. My only feeling is that it is on the same cheap paper as the low cost red NAB, and the Nelson is on white acid free paper and should hold up better. Either is a better price break than the Catholic Youth Bible. the Catholic answers bible is out of our price range for bulk buying (I buy at least 4 cases each year).

Communication Center is the cheapest price around. www.comcenter.com

Ask your parish if you can purchase with their tax id so you do not have to pay sales tax.

We got the Confirmation students the Prove It! bible this year.

Hello im 16 and i own the prove it teen bible and its great. i love all the inserts in it, it even has a detailed page on how to pray the rosary which i found really useful

I would also recommend the book called “YOUCAT” which was published by Aid to the Church in Need. They were handed out during World Youth Day in Madrid and I have found it to be an excellent book for young people. The Compendium of the Catechism is also useful. I use it as a quick-reference source before heading to the full catechism.
