Would you be upset if this was sung at your daughters wedding if you were roman catholic? I realize this is probably an incredibly naive question but i want to make sure I’m not pissing anyone off. I know some RCC churches sing “A Mighty Fortress is our God” so i dont think it will be a problem but when have the audience includes family members who are nuns and members of opus dei one wants to be sure everything is reasonably happy with the music selection. I love the Psalm so much and I feel like the Anglican Chant to that melody will be pleasantly familiar to most people. Anyone have a perspective to lend on this? BTW the service we are using is the Church of Irelands (Anglican) traditional solemnization ceremony, not the modern one. Also if anyone has any particular Catholic wedding hymn favorite I’m looking for a couple of suggestions on this as well.
