Below is an extract of some comments I’ve put down in response to some one who insists Mary had other children and used psalm 69:8 & John 7:5 on another forum

We can’t align this with Jesus!
So not every verse and every part of a verse from psalm 69 can be confidently assigned to Jesus, given verse 5 and particularly the implication of psalm 51:3-5 for the mother/son relationship of psalm 69:8
Having said that
I agree with you that **brethren **in psalm 69:8 is a fitting comparison /prophecy to John 7:5
Compare them below (Kjv)
John 7:5 For neither did** his brethren **believe in him.
Psalm 69: 8 I am become a stranger unto** my brethren**, and an alien unto my mother’s children.

What group is missing when applied to Mary/Jesus ,? the “mothers children/sons.” of psalm 69

So the group in question , the brethren in relation to jesus are Shown in John 2:16-18 given the direct quote of psalm 69:9*
And how did they respond to Jesus who made a scourge out of small chords?

18 Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?21 But he spake of the temple of his body.22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

I hear some say the psalm 69:8 reference to mother is a reference to Israel, but I need to think about that more. And am content to a satisfactory level for now with the above logic.

- Perhaps Take care with psalm 69:8 given this mother and child’s birth are described in ps51:3-5, perhaps you may not want to rely to much on that arrangement for a “type” , given the insinuation for Jesus of being conceived in iniquity.
But don t get me wrong I take this verse seriously and will continue to think on it. “types” often have holes but are still valid.

- As a side note, *Joseph is called His father and Jesus is refered to as his son! *John 6:42 and we accept using the bible that they are not biological. I know it is clear as day, but I also see it clearly that Mary is never refered to as a mother of anyone in the bible apart from Jesus.
