I regularly look through various Protestant websites, reading up on their arguements about Catholicism so that if I am ever faced with them I can refute them. It usually tends to be the same arguements or different versions of the same ones, but this one is a new one for me… I just copied and pasted the text below.

Psalms 69:8 I am a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my own mother’s sons

This is a Messianic prophecy, i.e., a prophecy about the coming Messiah. Evidence of its fulfillment is found here:

Mark 3:20-21 [20] Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. [21] When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”

John 7:1-5 [1] After this, Jesus went around in Galilee, purposely staying away from Judea because the Jews there were waiting to take his life. [2] But when the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near, [3] Jesus’ brothers said to him, “You ought to leave here and go to Judea, so that your disciples may see the miracles you do. [4] No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.” [5] For even his own brothers did not believe in him

What or how does this make for a protestant argument?

I think what they mean to say is that ‘the sons of my own mother’ it is saying that Mary had other children.

It could be saying that, sure. Who are his brothers and sisters? Who is the greek or jew?

Hey Silvereel, I see you’ve taken on the name of your favorite (?) Saint - cool! This one is easy to answer. Look at what Psalm 69 says right before that, which Protestants who make this argument pretend they don’t see:

“O God, You know my folly and blundering; my sins and my guilt are not hidden from You.” (Psalm 69:5 AMP)

So obviously not all the parts of Psalm 69 are about Jesus, since Our Lord had no sins, just as He had no siblings. David, on the other hand, had both. God bless!

The “mother” reference in Psalm 69 could refer to any female ancestor of the Messiah, such as “father” Abraham’s wife, Sarah, as in Isaiah 51:2.

You might counter with another prophecy that suggests the Messiah was an only child:
10"And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of compassion and supplication, so that, when they look on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a first-born. (Zechariah 12:10; cited in part in John 19:37)
