What evidence did the author of Psalm 90:20 have to make this statement:

‘‘Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God’’

The alternative is that the planet earth and its geology existed before God.

Is this what you are believing?

**It’s just common sense. Could you create one blade of grass, much less wind or a sunrise, or a beautiful baby or the nearly infinite Universe?

NO, the only answer for the beauty & perfection of this life is GOD!!!

Don’t type a response, take it to prayer. Let God speak to your heart over your lifetime, don’t rush to a conclusion.

Hebrews 11:1
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen.

If you take the early chapters of Genesis literally, as I do, this could be explained by the view that the Earth was quite different before Noah’s flood than it was after. The weight of the water could have had huge effects on Earth’s geology, including the formation of mountains.

However, onsidering the poetic nature of the Psalms, I think the point the psalmist is making is that God is eternal and Earth had a beginning and is, therefore, not eternal.

Psalm 90:2 explains the fact that God existed in eternity long before the mountains and the Earth came into existence. The proof is that all things in this universe are too good, beautiful, organized, and complex to have been made by accident. They were designed by an all powerful and all knowing intellectual being that we call “God.” This God cannot be seen for he is too vast, infinite, beautiful, and perfect to be in our field of vision.

The Psalm is ascribed to Moses (vs1 “A Prayer of Moses the man of God.”).
Also, Moses basically wrote the Pentateuch including Genesis ch.1. eg,
Genesis 1:2 “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”

So could also ask, what evidence did the Moses have to write this verse?

have to go back to,
2 Peter 1:21 “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”
