"St. Jude, glorious apostle, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the person (who betrayed our Lord) has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the true Church invokes you universally as the Patron of things despaired of. Pray for me, who is so miserable; pray for me, that I may finally receive the consolations and the succour of Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly for the protection of my mother’s arms during our our air travel, and that I may bless God with the Elect Throughout Eternity.

Thank you, Saint Jude, for any protection you were able to obtain.

I do not care for this prayer as I think Jude should be a bit tired of us throwing Judas the Betrayer, in his face with every prayer. Just my thoughts. God Bless, Memaw

I have several old St Jude prayer cards from the Shrine in Chicago that were my mother’s, and they have this wording. The more recent ones don’t. Personally, the wording does not bother me as a lot people do get St Jude confused with Judas.

I have some old ones also. You’re right, that’s why the wording was changed. Too many people confused St. Jude as Judas. St Jude worked along with St. Thaddeus.

Correction, St. Jude is St. Jude Thaddeus who worked with St. Simon.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.
