Just when you think the only major thing parents have to worry about while their kids are in school is them possibly being taught the acceptance of alternative lifestyles as normal, we can worry about teachers getting them interested in the New Age.

LAJAS, PUERTO RICO-September 29, 2005 - A sleepy hamlet in Puerto Rico is looking for some out-of-town visitors – way out of town.

The village of Lajas in southwestern Puerto Rico is building a UFO landing strip. There’s even a green sign along a lonely country road that reads: “Extraterrestrial Route.”
**The idea of welcoming the little green men comes from elementary school teacher Reynaldo Rios. He claims to have been communicating with ETs since he was a kid. **
Local officials are embracing the idea for a flying saucer port of call. They hope to at least attract earthlings interested in UFOs.

Just another tourist trap based on the UFO theme, IMHO. I suppose they thought that if it put Roswell on the map, it couldn’t do them any harm. As for the teacher who claims to have been in communication with ETs since childhood, I think they ought to get the poor man some professional help and find him another profession. I don’t think I’d want any child of mine being taught by someone who is so clearly delusional, would you?

But if he weren’t out teaching, then he might just be sitting at “home” all day, answering calls from E.T.
