Do Catholics still believe in Purgatory? Because I have often heard from other Catholics that Purgatory no longer exist. If it doesn’t, then what happen to it and what happen to the people there?
I think it’s only “toe the party line” when you are a democrate with your big foot in your mouth!P.S. Is it “tow” the party line, or “toe” the party line?
It’s “toe” – Lining up with toes along a straight line, like a military drill.Yes, Catholics still believe in Purgatory. Even books that I consider are from the modernist side will usually tow the party line on Purgatory.

P.S. Is it “tow” the party line, or “toe” the party line?

THANKS,
GET SEARCHIN!

Pretty large assumption on your part. I just got asked this by my luke warm Catholic relative as a sincere question. Maybe it’s in search of the truth. An ounce of charity…
Again, I am real glad I have no questions today.
God forbid a fallen away catholic has sincere questions that aren’t directly related. Have a little faith in people.Punching out new threads one after the other is a hallmark of trolling, especially if you’ve never first responded to a thread.

If Catholics no longer believe in Purgatory, the day wouldn’t be far off when they would likewise no longer believe in a hell, or heaven, or angels, or even God. They would then become indistinguishable from atheists. Christianity by then would have become a bad joke foisted upon the collective head of humanity.Do Catholics still believe in Purgatory? Because I have often heard from other Catholics that Purgatory no longer exist. If it doesn’t, then what happen to it and what happen to the people there?
Well, so far our “sincere questioner” has started the following Threads:** Punching out new threads one after the other is a hallmark of trolling, especially if you’ve never first responded to a thread.**
- This person is ON the internet, and found THIS forum. How did he NOT find anything on purgatory?? Really.
2. The “ounce of charity” was what to put in the search box, so he could get 22,000 commentaries, both pro and con.
3. If he follows my suggestion, he will be certain, and need not take my word for it.
4. His profile says “Catholic / Christian”. We shall see.
BTW:
Here’s his other thread started 7 min before this one:

Duplicate question making another Thread:Marriage & Priest .01.25.05…8am Why is it that the Catholic Church/Pope condones the marriage of some priests (i.e. those who have coverted to the Catholic faith), but does not allow a life-long Catholic priest to marry? I don’t understand the reasoning. If the Catholic Church allows priests to marry/remain married, then in essence, they are validating and condoning the marriage of priest. What is the Catholic Church’s justification for not allowing priest to marry? It is these contradictions that test my faith, but it is God’s answers that strengthen it.
** Why can only some priests be married? 1.25.02…8am. Moderators LOCKED it . (Made the mistake of putting it on "ask an Apologist Forum… ) **

**5 new threads started in less than 1 day. After Jesus’ Death 01.24.05…3.15pm I attended Catholic schools from the 1st through graduation. I believe I remember a prayer or creed that stated that Jesus decended into Hell before ascending into Heaven. Am I remembering that right? If so, what is the name of that prayer, and why did Jesus do this, was it to save the souls of those who had died before?
