Purification and Atonement

I belive I need a rite of purification and an assignment of atonement. Does the Catholic Church have purification? I already know Christ made atonement. I already know that there is purgatory. I want to know specifically if the Church has purification with atonement, that I can involve myself in.

The Sacrament of Penance is our version of Purification and Atonment, and it comes directly from Jesus, Himself. Remember, every time Jesus healed somone of a bodily infirmity, he also forgave the person’s sins.

Have genuine contrition and sorrow for your sins, not just because they offend God, but, because God loves you. Make a good act of contrition. Go to confession as soon as possible. Do your best to complete the penance your confessor assigns to you.

Later on, get a good, holy and doctrinally solid spiritual director. This should help you.
