Purification of Chalices

At my former parish, laypersons purified the chalices. One woman who was a new extraordinary minister expressed to me that she had gotten sick because she never drank alcohol and she was instructed to finish all the wine in the chalice.:eek:
 
Yes, I have heard of this type of problem. In our parish the EMHC will ask someone to help them consume, if they have a problem, but a good effort is made to not use an EMHC who is reluctant to consume to minister the Precious Blood.
