about the age old argument about baptizmo and dunking…as we all know in the Catholic church you can dunk or not dunk, doesn’t matter. The grace recieved in baptism is the same through the words “father, son and holy spirit” and is a literal cleansing of original sin and birth into the cristian family as circumcision was for the old covenant. spiritual circumcision through physical material.
In many protestant faiths it is merely a symbol of inward conversion and circumcision.
My question is this…
Why are many protestants so particular about how it is done if it is merely a symbol? As i understand it, your baptism isn’t considered necessary for salvation but only to be a member of the church to participate in the symbolic body and blood.
