So after a few recent marriage threads, I decided to actually look up in canon law the rules for marriage. And while there, I discovered the terms domicile and quasidomicile. After a brief Google search, I determined that your domicile is the parish where you normally live, and a quasidomicile is for temporary residences, such as being away at college. I also discovered (I think) that once you’ve lived somewhere long enough for it to be a quasidomicile, you’re bound by local rules. My question: How does this play into the Feast of the Ascension? Particularly, if your domicile transfers it to Sunday, but your quasidomicile doesn’t, would the day you celebrate it on probably depend on where you are at the time?
tl;dr– Home town celebrates the Ascension on Sunday. College celebrates on Thursday. Do I celebrate it on Sunday if home and Thursday if at college?
