I have just finished reading a book about a devout Mormon, Stuart Anderson, that is a very interesting read for Mormons and non Mormons alike titled “Quest for the Golden Plates”. It is readily available at Amazon.com or the Deseret book company will order it for you.

Couldn’t find a title by that name at Amazon: I’ve been doing virtually nothing but reading about the LDS, history, doctrine, practices, etc., for two weeks are so and I have to say that it’s unbelievably fascinating.

I understood that Moroni took the plates back to… wherever. I guess that Moroni, being an angel, wouldn’t take them to his world so he must have taken them to the celestial kingdom of the god whom he served?

He is probably referring to this book about Thomas Stuart Ferguson, who was an amateur archaeologist who lost faith in the Book of Mormon. For more background on Ferguson see here. And no, Deseret book doesn’t sell this book as it is critical of mormonism.

I agree with you that mormonism is fascinating. Good call about not expecting to find the plates, when by most accounts they should be in divine custody now. If only Mr. Ferguson had had realistic expectations. . .
