Hello!

I haven’t been to confession in around a month and half and I don’t know when I’ll go to confession. I have been trying to do an act of perfect contrition when in doubt about my sins, and then I wrote down the sins on a list to confess them when I’ll be able. I think that I might be a little scrupulous, so some sins on this list might be a little detailed

The thing is that I also remembered a lot of sins from my past, which have been added to that list. I tried to confess directly to God everything on my list, and since then, I have only been confessing the recent sins to God.

However, I read that perfect contrition should have contrition for all sins. Does that mean that I have to read this list everytime?

Thank you and God bless,

Somehow, you’ve got to trust in the love & mercy of our loving God.

Trust Him.

The idea is that the only mortal sins the occurred since the last good confession or that were forgotten and finally remembered, are included, although the sorrow for them all is universal. To despise every mortal sin that is not pleasing to God is possible, even though not remembered. Venial sins do not need to be confessed to restore a state of sanctifying grace.
