question about Confession

so i understand we should confess our sins but so we have too wait and confess our sins too the priest or confess them too God then the priest as well (i understand confession is all about God and we confess our sins to God during confession) but i don’t understand how someone can just sit around for a whole month (for an example committed a couple mortal sins and venial sins as well) and just live out of the state of grace can someone please explain the correct way too use confession

Why would you need to wait a whole month?

If you have committed a mortal sin, or a grave sin, you should go to Confession the very next time the priest is in the Confessional. In most places, that’s at least once a week, and you can also make a private appointment, if you can’t wait until the end of the week.

More and more parishes are offering Confession more than once a week, now, too - the parish I’m at right now offers it three times a week on Tuesdays for half an hour, Wednesdays for half an hour, and Saturdays for an hour, plus every First Friday throughout the day as needed. (They don’t spend the whole day in the Confessional, but if they see someone waiting, they will come.)

All mortal sins must be confessed in confession, hopefully as soon as posible. Venial sins, that are less serious, can wait for the next convient time for you to go. Parishes have regularly scheduled confessions, usually once a week, but you can always call the office and make an appointment anytime with a priest. My parish is lucky enough to have a retired priest in residence, he is available anytime for confession. In fact, it is not unusual for people to knock on the rectory door at odd times during the day or night and ask for a priest to hear their confession.

Darn! just went to confession this past saturday and already need to go back-being out in the heat at the air base and getting frustrated after coming back just before getting off work logging unto the computer, which was acting stupid, I accidentally slipped by mistake using our precious Lord’s name in vain-didn’t mean to, honest. Feel bad-was going to take my youngest daughter next Saturday for stealing but I guess I may go in after her-hate going so soon but what can I say? Wish I can overcome my sin problem in cussing and anger-and being in the air force reserves and being around the military peeps is no excuse for my language-I immediately apologized for slipping up.

It sounds like you are dealing with two issues which are very closely tied together; The Sacrament of Reconciliation and spiritual warfare. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is God’s grace when we fall, even if repeatedly. In his timeless classic, Spiritual Combat, Lorenzo Scupoli (St. Francis DeSales carried this book in his pocket) explains that when we fall, we are to get up brush ourselves off, get to the Sacrament of Reconciliation as soon as possible, but until then to go about our business and not let the devil hold our sins over us, if we are truly repentant. It is through the priest and those words of mercy “I absolve you from your sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son, And of the Holy Spirit” that we truly know we are forgiven. So we are to be truly repentant (sorry for our sins), use the grace of the Sacrament of Reconciliation whenever necessary, and know that we are truly loved by God, and God wants to extend His divine mercy to us.
