Came across this website of a new Catholic high school ckchs.org, and was interested in the type of cross used in the graphic. Would anyone know if there are specific guidelines for graphics of crosses and and other religious symbols appoved by the Catholic Church?

I have never seen the graphic on the website before. However Christ The King has been depicted on the cross with priestly vestments and a royal crown before.

I don’t think there’s any specific mandate on crosses or anything like that (except for liturgical use–the rubrics require that a crucifix, not a cross with a “touchdown Jesus” in front of it–an actual crucifix to emphasize that the sacrifice that is being offered on the altar is the same as the one made at Calvary). As far as what symbols an individual may wear or use, this is a matter of personal spirituality. I personally like the San Damiano, St. Benedict, and Papal Crucifixes. It all depends on what symbolism is appropriate for the individual.

Looks like it’s supposed to be representative of a cross, crown, rising sun, and lightning bolt…probably something thought up by a graphic designer.

To me it is completely obvious that this is Christ on the cross, seen from the side, with a crown of thorns/sunburst (clever graphic suggestion). The “corpus” is modeled after the one on the staff made for Paul VI but made famous by JP-2.

I guess the graphic ain’t so great if people see so many different things in it. Lightning bolt?
