Hello

I hope someone can help. I bought a daily missal( huge includes everything) at the Catholic truth society. However I am bit confused

How can I use it? Especially for weekdays ;Does not have lectionary numbers?

Thanks

I am not sure which CTS missal you have.

If it does not have the readings, perhaps it is the one with the red cover at ctsbooks.org/study-missal .

Alternatively, you may have one with the blue cover at ctsbooks.org/daily-missal/ .

I have the one with the red cover. It is the same book that the Priest has on the altar, but with smaller print. For Thursday 7 January 2016, I put a red ribbon on page 220. I put a green ribbon on page 550, in case the “I confess” prayer is used. I keep a yellow ribbon on page 557, for the Gloria on Sundays. I have a maroon ribbon on page 562 for the Creed on Sundays. I have the purple ribbon on page 698 for the Lord’s Prayer. I have the pink ribbon on page 835, in case the Optional Memorial of Saint Raymond of Penyafort is used.

For the readings I have other books: the three volume study Lectionary, which is used in Australia.

The CTS missal certainly has the readings. You can see a sample of it here. You can also see the contents page on that link which may help.

I have the same missal as your do. My advices is to spend time to you read it and get your head round it. I also have found that there isn’t enough tabs to mark the pages

The CTS puts put beautiful missals, but it uses a different scripture translation than we use here in America. If you live in a country using the translations approved by the British bishops you will be all set, but if you are in the US you might prefer an American missal.
