Dear Bruised Reed,While “Divine Mercy in My Soul” resonates with me I could not get through “Story of a Soul” by St. Therese.![]()
Like you said, we are helped by different things.
You might be helped by reading the book, “St. Therese of Lisieux her last conversations” which includes the saint’s words in the last months of her life, as recorded by her sisters in Carmel, as they sat beside her bed (Pauline, Marie and Celine Martin). I was so blessed in hearing her words in that book, I went back and re-read St. Therese’s autobiography with much greater appreciation for her humility, her faith, hope and overflowing charity. I find a great similarity in these two: St. Therese of Lisieux and St. Faustina, especially in their “trust in Jesus”.
