Hi everyone!
Are there any differences in the vows taken by secular institute members and those in a lay movement such as Regnum Christi or Focolare or Apostolate for Family Consecration Catholic Corps? Are the people in these groups that take private vows just as completely consecrated as those in secular institutes? What does canon law say? Do secular institute and religious order vows offer spiritual advantages that vows in lay movements don’t? I am kind of confused as to what constitutes consecrated life? Thanks!

You might find an answer and very informed answers over on Phatmass.com phatmass.com/phorum/forum/17-vocation-station/ in the Vocations Forum - there are a few theologically trained (in various branches) members over there that do tend to ‘hang around’ now and then in the Vocations Forum. There are a couple active now - they might come in on your question.

Tigger:)
