Question about Divine Mercy wording, TIA!

Hi all, my friend suggested the Divine Mercy novena to her dh and he was wondering about the wording in the Chaplet, “I offer you the body, blood, soul and divinity of your Dearly Beloved Son…”

His question is, how is it ours to offer? I looked on the explanation of the practice/devotion on EWTN and didn’t see this addressed.

What has been given to us by Our Lord is ours to give back to Him. Here’s a link that explains it pretty well.
