I was wondering, are they required to be said? I notice a real inconsistency among different churches. Some the lectors say them if there is no music. Some they are not said at all. Some the priest says them regardless of if their is music or not. I didn’t know if anyone knew the actual rubric on this?
I like them. I feel they were put in as a common to the EF introit and communion prayer. Don’t get why it would be optional.

Question about the Entrance Antiphon and Communion Antiphon Liturgy and Sacraments
Is the Entrance Antiphon and Communion Antiphon optional in the Novus Ordo ? I know they can be either sung or said, but can they be omitted ?
