“a priest who absolves an accomplice in a sin against the sixth commandment”

this is grounds for excommunication, which I don’t understand. Does that mean people can’t be absolved for sins against the sixth commandment? I know I’m probably wrong, but I just can’t make sense of this. Hope someone can help me figure this out.

Thanks.

I think that this refers to a priest knowingly giving absolution to someone he himself is having an affair with.
