If the Jewish religion is considered the “elder brother” of the Christian faith, why hasn’t Hebrew been preserved in the Church?

IIRC that even by the time of Chirst Hebrew was basically only used for religious writtings
the everyday language of the people in the area at the time was aramaic (sp) with Greek being the regional linga franka and latin being the language of the government

After the Jewish revolt (69-71?) andthe diaspora I suppose that there was even less of a hebrew speaking comunity

If you are going to spread the Good News it seems only smart to adopt the languages that could reach the most people
