I’m considering going to lauds tomorrow at my parish. Will they a breviary that I will be able to borrow? I don’t have a breviary of my own and don’t want to look out of place carrying in a tablet or looking at my phone.

If they have scheduled morning prayer, you can just about bet they’ll have books you can use. If not, you might be able to look on with someone. Don’t worry about seeming out of place using a tablet, people ought to mind their own business anyway. And finally, if you’d like a copy of Christian Prayer, PM me your address and I’ll see what I can do.

It won’t be useful if the community is praying out of the official LOTH. Universalis uses an unapproved translation.

iBreviary s a better choice, there may be others.
They also have the downloadable version which can be the NAB and Grail. Are you thinking of the 1974 ICEL version?

It’s been a while since I checked it out as I do the LOTH in French/Latin.

I see the OP isn’t in N. America.

The Universalis paid app (about $13) does have NAB version with all optional memorials in it. Also has the daily readings. Use it on tablet/phone all the time at Mass and Adoration.

To ensure everyone has the same version, though, the parish will likely have pamphlets at the door or in the pews.

For future reference, I do live in N. America. I went to morning prayer this morning and it was awesome. I wish I had a work schedule that allowed me to go to morning prayer and vespers. Morning prayer/Mass is a good way to start the day. 😃

Edit: They also had a version of Christian Prayer that everyone read out of.
