I am in the middle of a nine day novena to St. Joseph but missed a day. Should I start over or keep going and add a day? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Ishii

This has come up a number of times for me - I’ve decided that for me I’ll keep on going and add a day.

For me the novena is primarily about nine days of prayer. It is designed to emulate the nine days the Apostles and Mary spent in prayer between Ascension and Pentecost.
So what I tend to do if I miss a day is actually say the prayer twice the next day (perhaps once in the morning and once in the evening) so I retain the nine-prayers-in-nine-days thing.
