Hi there – I guess these questions are for organists and pianists…
I received the OCP Keyboard Accompaniment Music yesterday. I had some ancient pages from long ago (kindly given to me by our parish Music Director), but it was missing many pages and missing most of the Mass Settings.
So, it came with two binders. I see there is Music, then Psalms, Canticles, etc., and Mass Settings, then the 2010 supplemental music, and 2011 supplemental music.
So, I updated the supplements like i was supposed to and put the music into two binders.
But, is this the most convenient way to store, or use these music pages?
How do you keep track of the OCP music?
I was thinking maybe putting Psalms/Canticles into a separate binder, and then putting all the Mass Settings together. So with those pages out of the binders, then I would have two binders of music?
Also, the new music. According to the suggestions, the new music is placed at the end. Is this the best way? Is this how you do it?
Oh, and I do have a separate service binder I made up with tabs for the music for all the different parts of the Mass.
Also, I have another separate binder for music that I am working up for future Masses (our Music Director works about a month ahead at a time usually).
The OCP gal – who was a VERY helpful, suggested if I take a page out, to highlight the right hand corner with a color highlighter so that i can see at a glance that it goes back into the correct binder. I have the old music in separate binders I purchased. OCP gal recommended I keep the old OCP music that I do have since with changes and addition of new music, some of the old music may not be available in the new book…
Thank you for your responses.
