What is the opinion of Roman Catholics toward things like self help, more specifically Tony Robbins, Deepak Chopra, etc.

Is it frowned upon to engage in such thinking or is it in line with your beliefs?

Thanks.

Self-help based in Catholic theology and philosophy would be perfectly acceptable. There are many Catholic therapists and authors who offer advise and help to those who need it.

The persons you named are not rooted in a Christian philosophy, and I do not believe it would be wise for a Catholic to engage in their courses/books-- and in some cases, depending on the author, it could be sinful. Deepak Chopra specifically is anti-thetical to Christian teaching and espouses New Age tenets incompatible with Catholicism.
