Yeah i whould like to ask an question about sunday mass because it bothers me normally i am attending mass every sunday yet i am not shure what to do here

example you go to vacation for just like small trip not to much days but still that way you can miss sunday mass but i have to mention church isnt really that far either on vacation so that means i have to find close church even so i go to trip is that correct?

since church is close that i can even go by walk to it?
i been to the church where i been on vacation as well since i was small i can show you picture of it even so its not my

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

i think that this is the church been there well not alot but been again

that s why i want to ask that since i have a church there where i dont belong to it but i can still attend does it count as going if you go to another church where you arent part of?

Can i or not get that i be free from sunday obligaiton when going to vacation again church is close but probably i know already what to expect maybe or i am wrong just say what do you think?

I just dont want to mess it up because of this and yes i know church sunday always comes first even so i can swim afther church oh well i guess i will have to go to church then swim right?

Yes, it counts.

I’m not your priest, so I can’t say. However, in almost all circumstances, vacation won’t make it impossible to get to fulfill the Sunday obligation, and you can almost always plan around that. Some exceptions exist, but almost all of those deal with flying across the Atlantic or Pacific.

If there is a Catholic church near you, then yes, you are obliged to attend. Being “part of the church” is beside the point. All Catholic churches may be attended by any of the faithful.

If you are in a part of the world where there are no Catholic churches, then you may attend an Orthodox church (but not receive communion) if one is available. I do not know if you are ever obliged to attend, but you may do so.

I understand thank you for helping me explaining
that means best to go to church then to swiming

Going to Mass should always be your first priority. Go to Mass and then enjoy the rest of your day in any way you wish.

To me, Mas is such a privilege and a gift that there is little (except maybe being bedridden and ill) that will keep me from it.

My husband and I go to Florida for 3 months in the winter. We travel in a 5th wheel camper and are on the move every 2 weeks. One of the first things I do to prepare for the trip is locate Catholic churches in every city we will be.

So, to answer your question, yes I do believe it is an obligation to attend Mass while on vacation unless there are circumstances beyond your control where it is not possible to get to a church. Why deprive yourself of the blessings.

Mary that s why its good i asked this question that i can know things its always great to have new experience in asking because that way we learn new things and that helped me and i am happy that it helps you to when going to mass i can tell you

to me church now is like another home that s why i even asked this question also all is cool now god bless you and your family

When I’m on vacation I try to find a special church in the area for Mass. Maybe there’s a very historic church or one known for its stained glass or some other feature. It becomes part of my vacation planning.

Is it a Catholic church? If it is then of course you are a part of it. We belong to the universal Church, the Catholic Church, all over the world.

As for attending Mass on holiday, then as Catholics, unless we are in some remote place where there are no Catholic churches that we can get to (by walking, by bus, by car etc) then I believe we ought to go to Mass there. Why would we not?

I was in Dubrovnik on holiday last year, an amazing city and a very Catholic country indeed. I was amazed when we went into the treasury of Dubrovnik cathedral and they had a relic of the true Cross there. We took a trip over to Medjugorge also. A very Catholic country, and probably the cleanest country I’ve ever been to. Yes, Croatia really is a Catholic gem.

That s amazing i hope you had fun there and saw amazing places around the sea the sky in the sunshine its so beautifull not just that we are known for fish as well also did you know that in our country Croatia Saint paul was also? around that s why our country has amazing christian biblical history

It is a great question and there are some great answers. Mass first as the priority, either Saturday evening vigil or Sunday.

Indeed yes that s why i asked that question also i am happy that i can go to church on vacation i really just hope i wont go alone T_T dont like going alone

God is there, you are never alone. At Mass you form the Body of the Church very visibly, along with everyone else celebrating, and in petitioning The Holy Spirit during the Liturgy of the Eucharist

Can i or not get that i be free from sunday obligaiton when going to vacation again church is close
since church is close that i can even go by walk to it?
Then you must go to Mass on Sunday.

If we are on vacation and there isn’t a Catholic Church and Mass we can attend, or if on a cruise in the middle of the ocean and there is not a Catholic Pries onboard who will be offering Mass, then in these circumstances we are not bound to the Sunday obligation as it is not phsically possible. God does not hold up to the impossible.
church sunday always comes first even so i can swim afther church
will have to go to church then swim right?
Yes. That is right.

Sorry for late reply that s true yeah yet its really nice when you go with your family or freinds or even other relatives
