Question about the Liturgy of the Hours

I have the 4 volume set so this is a question about Volume 1.

On page 186 after the Readings there is “Friday’s Morning Prayer.”
On page 768 there is also a Morning Prayer for the same day.

There two sections in the volume under the heading of “Office of Readings”

How are they the same? How are they different?

Is it customary to pray both or just one?

I especially like the 4 volume set because I love the Readings from Scripture and I love the comments made by wise teachers in the past.

You do both, as the psalms are taken from the Psalter (page 769) and the rest is from the proper (page186). Just as it says to do after the last psalm on page 773.

I can’t say that I “pray” the LOTH. I am still in a stage of simply reading most of it.

I am falling in love with it however. I have been working at it for about a year now on my own. It finally dawned on my feeble little brain that I can find answers to my many questions right here on this board.
