Hi there! I just want to ask something.
Whenever I would buy a religious item from a Catholic store, I would ask if it was already blessed and they always say no. Why is that so?
And I have these non Catholic items at home like for example buddha statues and stuff I want to ask on what I should do to them. Should I throw it or keep it? Thx

Is it still simony if you give or pass a sacramental to a beloved person or dear one without the exchange of money?

No.

“buying and selling what is spiritual in return for what is temporaland “equate material things, such as money, with spiritual things, such as divine grace, and treates the latter as though he or some other human being had full ownership of what really belongs to God

There is no exchange of money for the sacramental you are giving to them. It is a gift. I’ve received items from my friend that she has had blessed by a priest prior to her giving them to me. No sin involved on her part or my part in accepting the gift.

If it bothers you, (or them), then perhaps if you just buy the gift (rosary beads) and allow them to get their priest to bless them for them. If giving them a bottle of Holy Water for their personal use at home, then again, it is a gift.
