Hi:
I am trying to spend my prayer time in reading and reflecting on Scripture. Today I read Matthew’s account of the loaves and fishes miracle followed by Jesus’ walking on water. In the edition of the Bible I had, there was a footnote cross-referencing to Mark’s account of the same events and noted the differences in the endings between the two episodes. In one, the disciples call Jesus the Son of God while in the other it says their minds were completely closed etc. (Sorry I don’t have the Bible in front of me so I can’t quote it directly.)
Why the difference? I can only assume this is the same episode.
While I am asking, here’s another one that’s always puzzled me: Why is there no mention of the Eucharist in the creeds?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
