Yes. Otherwise, the fact that she said “Behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it done unto me according to thy word” would have meant nothing.
She freely chose to accept being the Mother of God. God gave her the choice. She could have said, “nope, I just want to be an ordinary Jewish wife.”
