Do you know what the Liturgy of the Hours is? I’ve initiated this poll out of curiosity about the forum’s visitors.
:yup: Ditto! :yup:Yep. It’s been an on-and-off habit for quite a while, but it’s one of my “new year’s resolutions” to pray the hours daily. So far, so good.
It does help get the day off right.![]()
It should not take two hours. I can pray Morning Prayer and the Office of Readings together in less than a 1/2 hour, and that is not rushing through it. Evening prayer is shorter and takes maybe 10 minutes. When I do pray the other hours they take maybe 5 minutes each and Compline is the shortest and can be done in less than 5 minutes.I’ve been trying to pray them every day, but I’ve not quite developed the habit yet… I hope to have it a bit more instituted within the next few weeks because I think the 2 or so hours a day that it takes to pray them (by myself, anyways) is what I’m “giving up” for Lent.
I just prayed Vespers for the first time in a community last night… I just wish that parish wasn’t 35 miles away…Or that I had a car right now.
