I was wondering how the conservative branch of Judaism feels about non-Jews attending Synagogue services. A year and a half ago, my church choir sang at a Reform Congregation (bethisrael.org, and I enjoyed it. It was my first experience in a Synagogue.

Finally, a thread named after me:). Generally, we don’t have a problem with it. I say generally, because communities are like people, and they will vary in their opinions.
A non-jew is free to attend services. There are a few things they can’t do during the service. When we reach the portion of the service where we read from the Torah scrolls, people are called up to read from the Torah. A non-Jew cannot be called up. But attending the service is fine.

OK, thanks. The reason I ask is that I had heard that Orthodox Jews do NOT allow non-Jews to attend their services, and wasn’t sure if Conservative Jews felt the same way. The Orthodox don’t even allow non-Orthodox Jews to go to their Synagogues, if I’m not mistaken.
