Question- Is it a mortal sin to use previously pirated content?

Is it a mortal sin to continue using it after previous download? I firmly intend to never steal again. Should it be deleted?
 
“Should it be deleted?” Yes - doesn’t matter whether it’s venial or mortal. It’s not yours no matter when it was stolen.

Is it a mortal sin? Talk to your priest about this part. There are guidelines, of course, about what is venial or mortal but if mortal he can absolve you and also determine if anything else is needed besides deleting it.
 
The Church has no definitive teachings on such matters but I can’t see how it could be grave matter. You aren’t physically depriving anyone of anything - just a few dollars out of potentially millions of dollars of revenue. Unless you willfully and deliberately pirated a copy of your mother’s published song, and she happens to be a starving artist barely getting by…
 
While I don’t think it would qualify as grave matter (see above post), you probably should get rid of it. Or better yet, legally obtain a license for the content. I’ve done this in the past…pirated seasons of TV and then bought them from say iTunes once it became available (I’m not advising this approach for the record).
