Hi everybody,
My baby will be baptized this Sunday at 1pm. The priest said it will end in under an hour so folks will be at my house around 2pm.
I don’t think that’s lunchtime and since we are tight on money this week I asked my husband to buy 2 finger food trays at Costco, plus juice, cookies and cupcakes and a few cute decorations and that’s it.

Usually if I’m celebrating something in my home (it’s been years) I like to get tons of food for people but this time we can’t. It will be just my sister and a few of my teenage kids friends. That’s it. I love that it’ll be a small gathering but I’ve never been Martha Stewarty so any ideas on inexpensive decorations or food or anything really appreciated!!!

Thank you all so much ❤️

I think what you have planned is fine. If you wanted it to stand in for late lunch, you could make an assortment of sandwiches, cut them in quarters in triangles…ham, turkey, chicken salad. People used to do this all the time for ladies luncheons. It’s all in how you arrange it on the platter.

Thanks so much. I wanted to do cheese and crackers and salami platter, my mind wanted so much more but I don’t want to get caught up in that.

I think that’s perfect. I have been to several where only cake, coffee and punch were served when it was not at a meal time. And a fancy professional cake is not needed…you can bake one from a box

I think kindness matters hit the nail on the head! I think it will be a lovely gathering. Congratulations and blessings upon your baby and family!
