My daughter in law works with autistic children. One of her former students was killed tragically in a car wreck, he was in his teens.

The question was put to her as to whether or not this young man will still process his autism in heaven. My first guess was that he will be perfected in the way God made him, in his autism, but then again since autism is a disability, will that be cured in heaven ?

Thoughts ?

My thought is that his autism was a disability of his physical body, but it wasn’t a disability of his soul. So when his soul leaves his body he will no longer be affected by his autism.

I myself have a disability so there are times where I’ll be in pain and just have difficulty doing things. I’ve always thought that if I make it to Heaven then I’ll be able to glorify the Lord in a unique way because of my life experiences once I can experience the perfection that He had originally planned for us before sin, disease, etc. entered the world. That’s why I like to find saints who experienced specific things I’m having troubles with and I’ll pray to them because I feel like they can relate.

I think it will be lovely to meet people in their perfect states. But we will still be able to recognise each other 🙂

I love the idea - of being in total heavenly perfection - above.
The martyrs who were disfigured and tortured -
at the Courts of Justice - in glowing holiness - before their enemies.

I wonder if old small bald people -
will be restored their youth, height and hair !

Yes, I agree with this and further at the time of the resurrection of our bodies on the last day by God, our bodies will rise perfect without any defects such as when God created Adam and Eve with perfect bodies which were incorruptible and impassible by the gift of grace before their fall and the resurrection of our bodies will be patterned after the resurrection of Christ’s glorified perfect body.
