Our priest recently did away with paid stipends for Mass Intentions, saying that Jesus’ mercy is boundless. But I notice now that he never mentions any of the names directly or even indirectly at Mass. The names are listed in our bulletin. Does this have any bearing on a Mass Intention if the subject isn’t brought up at all at mass?

I now sort of feel you get what you pay for.
Nope. The mass intention does not need to be stated during the mass itself. It does need to be published, or announced in one way or another; many parishes publish them in the bulletin.
