I have always wondered how does the priest actually make communion body and blood of Jesus when Jesus is the only one who can turn water into his Blood and bread into his flesh?
Read about the multiplication of loaves and fish. Note that the bread multiplied in the hands of the Apostles after Jesus initiated for it to happen. Same thing happens during the Anaphora, where the priests, by command by Jesus to “do this in remembrance of me,” multiplies the loaves of the Bread of Life.I have always wondered how does the priest actually make communion body and blood of Jesus when Jesus is the only one who can turn water into his Blood and bread into his flesh?
You are correct, Jesus is the only one who can do this, and so it is that the priest does this by the power of the Holy Spirit, acting in the person of Christ, by virtue of his ordination.I have always wondered how does the priest actually make communion body and blood of Jesus when Jesus is the only one who can turn water into his Blood and bread into his flesh?
