Question re. "Passion" movie

Seriously, I am not going to lie and say I really enjoyed this movie, I did not. But what I did get from it is a realization of what kind of sacrifice he actually made for us. And as for any positive change I have this guilt thing going now (I thought guilt was a Catholic thing) over a few words I use daily that I learned from my Decorated Navy man grandfather, I was gramps favorite. I never thought of it as blasphemy before.

I did hear about an edited version although it may be that was only available for theatrical release and not dvd. I’m not sure. You could probably find out by going to the Passion website.

If you were listening to regular secular radio, you may have heard this but my experience was that most credible media sources validated that a true Roman crucifixion was indeed every bit as bad as Mel’s depiction.

oh it was secular should have said that. So it definetely was a “true to life” depiction, I had thought so.

Also the radio they even called it a snuff movie. I was shocked at first then thought about it and thought that was very good they thought that. Essentially, they are admiting to understanding that somehow its ok for freddy to kill fictional characters. But Christ even though they wouldnt admit it, isnt a fictional character and didnt deserve it. So the movie was not ok. deep down they know Hes Lord.

ps in the Case for Christ the one chapter about what medically is going on is heart wrenching to read as well, sorta prepares one for the movie.

The movie compelled me to do some research on the facts about crucifixion and what I read horrified me even more than the film.

I did too,I read The Crucifixion of Jesus: A Forensic Inquiry by M.D.,Frederick T Zugibe,and what I read gave me the shivers,to know the physical and mental suffering that our Lord experienced during his passion.The movie,shows the torture,but it doesn’t quite explain the effects from it.
