So, I’m really struggling right now and I’m very confused, and I need some guidance.
I really enjoy the song “Perfect” by P!nk, so I decided to look up the music video. The video was fine, but in the comments section some were saying that there was an “explicit” version with a sex scene. I wanted to see if it was actually that bad or just exaggeration, because I didn’t think it would be too explicit in a music video. I looked it up, and when I saw this “explicit” part I was horrified and felt horrible after watching it. I did not want to see something that was explicit, rather I wanted to see if it was that bad out of curiosity. I did not enjoy it whatsoever, and I was disgusted. But now, I wonder, was this an act of mortal sin? I prayed to God an Act of Contrition and expressed my sorrow and disgust in what I saw, but I’m still worried I commited a mortal sin. Help?

I wouldn’t think its a mortal sin but I think you should learn a very valuable lesson from the experience.

It reminds me of the joke " lead me not into temptation for I can find it well enough myself"

If in this day and age something is deemed explicit you can be sure it is. If you are given a warning that something is bad you should not go there. Remember curiousity killed the Cat. We are all human and we all make mistakes but only a fool makes the same mistake twice. So speaks a fool lol.

Do what you feel you need to do and move on a little wiser.

Love and Respect

I think you are fine and should just reframe from looking at that stuff again…yuck huh?

Yes, I learned a valuable lesson from this. Thanks for your help, guys!
