I work at a parish. My hours on Sunday are 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM.

Obviously, I attend Sat night Mass. 🤷

What if one works in the transportation industry, such as an airline pilot, locomotive engineer or trucker? One works odd hours and on weekends. Also you could find yourself on the move up in the air, or on a train on both Saturday and Sunday. Since railroads in particular do not follow any set schedule and can call you for duty if they see you have had at least 8 hours off since you last came in, it is possible to work both Saturday and Sunday.

What happens then? Is there a dispensation? I remember my parish priest said you can get a dispensation if one travels. Does it apply in this case?

What if you just prefer to go to Saturday night mass? I’m not a morning person and 10:00 is overcrowded.

I prefer the Saturday night Mass, too, at least with my situation right now.

We’ve been through this discussion before; we’re allowed to attend the Saturday night Mass and no reason is necessary.
