Question- War?

I recently purchased a home. Shortly after moving in, I discovered that 2 doors down is an abortion mill. I wonder, is it a stronghold of satan? If so, how does that affect my household. Could some of my problems be because of living near such a place. Am I in spiritual warfare with the " evil wind " that emanates from the mill? I am not sure what to think. nothing paranormal, just sin and difficulty. Coincidence?

Maybe ask your priest to come over and bless your home. Proximity to all types of natural events cause destruction, why not supernatural?

I think you ask a great question and many will criticize you. Evil is real. The Supernatural is real. Satan is real and his greatest lie is he doesn’t exist. Abortion is nothing more than Satan sacrificing children on his altar of free choice. He did it to Eve, he does it today.

May the God of all creation bless you and yours. May God and his angels protect you, guide and direct your path. May the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy and Protector of the Unborn Pray for us.

I second the idea of having your home blessed, and I agree with the previous poster that evil is very real and all around us.

But, maybe you are in this home for a reason…perhaps being so close to a place of such tragedy and sadness will inspire you to pray all the more for people to recognize the sanctity of life. Sometimes God allows us to be in places that are uncomfortable for us because He has good planned to come out of it. Maybe you can put a small statue of a saint or something in your front yard, and who knows…a woman walking by your home on her way to the abortion mill could see it and change her mind. You never know what might happen. Best wishes.

I have to agree with Belle10.

God may have put you three doors away from the abortion mill so you can witness … you are literally in the front lines. In the trenches. You are as close to the “action” as is humanly possible to be.

Read up on the law with respect to the distance between abortion mills and protesters. Check with the right-to-life organizations. Do it legally, so you don’t get arrested and have your property seized.

But this may be a way of grace.

Be respectful and reverent.

I have no right to tell you what to do.

However, depending on your prayers and where you are led, you might want to contact Operation Rescue and chat with them about what your options are.

You can take “baby steps” at first … there are many different ways to do this. Maybe just pray constantly. That’s what I advise everyone, regardless of the situation they find themselves in.

Pray ALWAYS. Be open to the Holy Spirit’s direction and guidance.

I agree with all the other posters that maybe you are in this house for a reason. However, I would discuss that reason with a priest. Just because God moved you next to house that needs plumbing work doesn’t mean that he is going to make you the plumber. Maybe God wants you to just call the plumber too.

Not everyone is cut out to be the abortion protest type. That is a very hard vocation. Maybe stand outside and pray your rosary. But please check with your priest maybe someone is already doing something that your proximity will aide in, serve nourishment, have Bible study, etc.

God bless your efforts with many saved lives.

I know that there are protestors who operate across the street. Most from my parish. Maybe I can have a prayer meeting in my house, which is private property, No law against that I think. I will have to talk to the priest.

There is nothing illegal about protesting either as long as they stay within the boundaires set by the law.

I’m curious though, would you have bought the house if you knew about the abortion clinic? I wonder if this should have been disclosed by the Realtor as this may very well have an affect on the value of your home.

Now with that said, I do agree with the other posts, this is an opportunity to get involved in the Pro-Life movement. At your comfort level of course.

We all live in the midst of evil-we even have to struggle with it within ourselves- so I wouldn’t be so worried about protection form evil spirits associated with the clinic. I think we’re shortchanging God when we do that by being a bit superstitious. But I like the idea that you could be there to be used somehow in the battle against abortion. And then you might expect to be in for some real spiritual oppression. You’d want to pray about that and how God might use you.
