Question: Why did Jesus appear to Humans 2000 years ago not now?

It is not really a faith question that might not have an answer.
In the grand plan of God, why did Jesus appear roughly 2000 years ago and not today or 100 years ago as an example?

Did humans need to reach a certain level of intellect and technological/political/sociocultural process like e.g. reading and writing, or a large empire (Roman Empire) was required as a prerequisite?

Or is there something else that I am missing a detail?

Well, why are you asking this question now and not last month? For whatever reason, you have chosen to write now. It was a matter of your choice.
