What kind of a job are they applying for??😃

Seriously, I would say nothing and find someone with at least an ounce of maturity. I don’t think that you really needed to post here for an answer, did you? Do you really think that we would endorse that expectation?? …teachccd:shrug:

no no! i do know that but i meant, how do you counteract that argument???
i get that line quite regularly and im getting really fed up about it.

In all honesty you need to find different people to hang with. There are others like you who are looking for someone like yourself. You cannot turn a broken down VW into a Bentley so don’t think that you can. Dating is not a “fix it” shop. Dating is to find someone who is compatible with you.

It’s not really an argument but more of a statement. And again I say that it is said by those who show no maturity as well as a lack of faith. Go to areas where you can find someone who has the same values as yourself.

If this is a general question aimed to those who commonly speak this way then just tell them what I just told you. When I order a meal I surely don’t look for food that’s been taste tested prior to being served to me. Why would I want a spouse who has been used by others? I know first hand that a couple can grow in experience with each other. I’ve been married for 27 years and neither one of us has been with anyone else. What a great gift we gave to each other. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. And I am lacking nothing in that department. So just know that “experience” doesn’t mean anything more than used or perhaps taken advantage of but surely doesn’t equate to a life of dedicated love.

There is nothing better than giving the gift of yourself to your spouse on your wedding night and remaining faithful throughout your marriage. There is no greater gift. Some spend more on the ring than they do on the relationship…Now, how did I do??..teachccd 🙂

It wouldn’t hurt to bring up all the negative effects of sleeping around emotional (depression, emotional baggage, etc) and physical (STD’s, infertility from said STD’s, etc.)

There is a really good website chastity.com that I would really recommend. In the chastity Q & A section there is a lot of great information.

yeah yeah, thats the thing…iv used stats about HPV etc and a few of the things on JE website on STDs to justify the dangers of having ‘experience’ but the thing is, i find that it doesn’t hit home.
(unless, the guy/girl has an std)

There is a hilarious video concerning this idea. These young people are in a diner and place their orders. Their food comes to them half eaten (i.e. it has experience). They are totally grossed out by the idea that someone else has previously tested/eaten their food.

I think I found the link in a post on Catholic Answers, but I cannot remember in which thread it is. If you can find it I would definately let your friend view it. Also, if you find it please let me know as I want to show my high school class the video when we discuss chastity.

God bless

Guys want a girl with experience for a guaranteed good time for a short time. They have no interest in a long term relationship and want to know the girl who can be gotten easy then tradded in. When a guy is looking for a long term relationship, he is looking for a girl with out experience.

Think about it; most guys don’t mind taking used cars for a test drive but if they are going to make a significant investment they would rather have a new undriven car.

You may also want to listen to Pink Floyd’s album “The Wall”. One of the songs is about a “dirty woman” and highlights some of the mentality in men wanting to go out with a woman with experience.

If a guy looks at a woman with true love he will find the thought of her being with another guy as very painful.

Younger guys may not think of this conciously. Hormones are raging and sometimes short out other thought processes. A guy may intend to find a nice girl to settle down with but will get their head turned by the thought of a pleasant physical experience. This is why so many attractive women will get into a relationship after relationship, always ending up with the guys pushing them away: the guys get the thrill then when the thrill wears off they loose interest.
