Where their other people called Jesus during Jesus Christ’ time?

As far as I know there were a lot. Jesus is just a form of Yeshua or Joshua, which was a very popular name at the time amongst Jews.

Certainly there were - a few are even mentioned in scripture, such as Jesus Barabbas (remember Pilate offered the crowd the choice between having Jesus Christ or Jesus Barabbas released, and they chose Barabbas?) and ‘Jesus surnamed Justus’ in Acts.

Sorry if this does not sound semantically correct, but I don’t know how else to put it. How do we know that we are worshipping the right Jesus, if their were many named Jesus?

Because they had titles and surnames and family names to distinguish one Jesus from another, just like these days we have surnames to distinuish one John or Jane from another.

There was only one Jesus of Nazareth (small town) also known as Christ, only one Jesus Barabbas and only one Jesus Justus. Just as there was only one Mary of Magdala, only one Mary mother of Jesus and only one Mary wife of Clopas.

We know the three Marys were not the same person because they were all three listed as being present at the crucifixion. So we know the three Jesuses weren’t the same person because two of them were offered for release by Pilate and the other one is only mentioned after the Ascension so he couldn’t have been the same Jesus.

No other Jesus is God Incarnate, is Crucified, is Risen, and is Ascented and sitteth at the Right-hand of God the Father, from whence He shall come again.

None of us knows what his true human appearance was like but there was only 1 Jesus that saved all of us. He is the one we adore. Amen
