Questions about Baptisim

hey I cannot believe it been literally a year since i was a total wreck Prayed entered back home and now am soon to become catholic.

so now it will be easter my baptisim day. 2 weeks I went through the welcoming to church thing and it was amazing . on other hand though I am so determined having the baptisim date cooming is kinda scary … you know it is a big change responsability and devotion and you do not wanna screw it up … yes i do not want too.

I will be soon done with my RCIA but is there any extra preparation you advice to do before baptisim. it honestly feels like marraige for me where u need to get kinda prapared and now it is getting closer am bit scared just cos it is really a big thing and becoming more real.

From personal experience (in my case it was before confirmation), I would try to go on a mini-pilmgramage shortly beforehand to a shrine, cathedral or significant church in your area to pray and reflect on the path you are taking.

I think getting to know the saints better because they are our partners.
We make them real by reading their lives. Once we do that we know them like one of our family.

Some suggestions would be St. Teresa of the little flower. St. Catherine Laboure is interesting. St. Bernadette is another.

Sometimes the parish has a parish library and these might be available.

Reading is important to keep the home fires burning.

I think would be good idea visting St. Patrick in new york it is special part in my heart!! thank you it is just being baptised means you are different person than one who entered that day kinda big thing for me .

Well RCIA was big help finding resources and digging deep . I Love theology and been interesting reading about catholic theology still i know i wont be the same person after baptisim so I am tying to be prepared for that event

I do to be honest sometimes I feel missing alot each time i cannot recieve a sacriment at church nor i can confess my sins … I am trying to be ready for that day and my new life and journey

Welcome home!

You will be fine. RCIA is the main source of your preparation, and as part of that, you should have a walk-through of Holy Saturday Night service, at least as far as your baptism.

And remember - you have a lot of family waiting to greet you, from the Apostles on down. Yes, it is a big step; but relax and enjoy it. I guarantee you won’t screw it up. I have been involved with RCIA for more than 20 years, and no one has ever succeeded in that! You’ll do just fine.
